The serene greens of Dolphin Golf Club, Navy Town, Ojo, Lagos, came alive on Saturday as the Western Naval Command hosted the 8th edition of its prestigious Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Golf Tournament.
The tournament was ceremoniously teed off by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral MG Oamen.
In his opening remarks, Rear Admiral Oamen highlighted the enduring values and camaraderie that the annual event represents. He stated that the tournament was conceived as a platform for fostering healthy rivalry and team spirit among officers.
Over the years, it has grown to become a significant fixture in the command’s calendar, reflecting shared values, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
The event drew a distinguished crowd including Ambassador (Dr.) J. O. Ogbe, Club Captain of Dolphin Golf Club, senior Naval officers, and civilian Golf enthusiasts.
The lush, well maintained course provided a perfect setting for the tournament, with players showcasing impressive skills and sportsmanship.
Dedicated caddies ensured a seamless flow of play, supporting golfers throughout the rounds.
The day concluded with a presentation ceremony where winners and participants received trophies and commemorative gifts, adding a celebratory note to the friendly competition.
