…Becomes party’s Lagos governorship candidate
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State,hon. Moshood Salvador has defected to the Labour Party.
Hon Salvador, who is a close ally of APC national leader and Presidential candidate, sen.Ahmed Tinubu was officially welcomed to the party Wednesday in Lagos and was equally announced as the Governorship candidate of the party on the state.
Salvador who is the leader of the Conscience Forum, a Political group in APC Lagos, said his group members have been marginalized, abandoned as he accused the APC of insincerity.
Hon Salvador was the former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos. He defected to the APC in 2018, after crisis engulfed the PDP in the state.
Speaking at a reception held by the Labour Party leadership to formally welcome him to the party on Wednesday at his residence in Surulere, Salvador declared that his decision to dump the APC was because of continued marginalization of his group.
On his part, the deputy national chairman of the party, Lamidi Apanpan said Salvador was an experienced politician that would bring success to the party in next year’s general elections.
He said the party would work with the present structure controlled by Salvador to win the state and dislodge the ruling party.
