Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has reaffirmed his commitment to rallying support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and for the election of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State.

The commitment was contained in a statement issued by the Ambode Support Associates and signed by the former General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adesina Tiamiyu.

According to the statement, Ambode made the pledge after a meeting with his political associates on Wednesday, November 4, where he promised to strengthen party unity and consolidate political relationships ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, the statement said, reviewed the political landscape in Lagos and across the country, with a focus on how to deepen cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ensure a united front going into the polls.

Ambode was said to have stressed the need for party members to close ranks, put aside differences and work collectively for the success of the party’s candidates at all levels.

As part of the mobilisation drive, arrangements are being advanced to host Hamzat, the APC governorship candidate in Lagos, and other party candidates in Epe next week.

He described the planned gathering as an opportunity to demonstrate the “strength, unity and collective resolve” of the Lagos APC family, adding that it is expected to bring together members, political leaders, community stakeholders and party faithful from across the state.

According to Tiamiyu, the event will also serve as a platform to strengthen existing alliances, deepen political collaboration and renew commitment to the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.

The statement said the mobilisation effort reflects the group’s philosophy of “One Nation, One Community, One Family.” It added that the drive would begin at the grassroots, targeting communities, Community Development Associations (CDAs), market women, artisans, persons with disabilities and other groups, with the aim of building a united front for Tinubu and Hamzat.

It noted that the strategy is anchored on inclusion, engagement and sustained grassroots mobilisation, rather than last-minute campaigning.

“Unity must translate into action, relationships must translate into stronger alliances, and collective commitment must translate into electoral success because we believe strongly in inclusion,” the statement said.

The group said the Epe gathering would set the tone for a series of engagements across Lagos, as Ambode and his associates intensify efforts to consolidate support for the APC ahead of 2027.
