The Federal Government has reiterated its promise to complete all outstanding projects in the Nigerian aviation industry before 2023.
Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika, gave this assurance while briefing State House Correspondents at the end of the Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
He said the government is particularly committed to pursuing the actualization of the grey component of the current aviation sector road-map to boost the industry potential in Nigeria.
In her briefing, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq said that a bill seeking to establish the National Social Investment Programme as an agency that will work in carrying out the mandate of President Buhari in lifting 100million Nigerians out of poverty was approved.
According to the minister, the council also approved the National Flood emergency preparedness and response plan which will be implemented in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to mitigate the possible effects of flooding incidents across the country.
Minister of State for Works and Housing Ibrahim El-Yakubu while speaking on the approval of the rehabilitation of Anambra-Enugu interstate road contract worth over 800million naira approved by FEC, reiterated that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and Second Niger Bridge were on course to be completed this year 2022.
Meanwhile, Nigerians in Kuwait may soon be able to fly direct flights to Nigeria as the Federal Executive Council also approved a bilateral trade agreement between Nigeria and Kuwait.
