Hon. Biodun Oyebanji, the new governor of Ekiti State, yesterday nominated Dr. Habibat Adubiaro to the position of secretary to the state government.

In a similar spirit, Mr. Yinka Oyebode was named by Oyebanji as the Chief Press Secretary.

Separate statements including these were submitted on Sunday and were signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bamidele Agbede.

According to Oyebanji, the appointments are effective right away.

Adubiaro, a devoted Muslim, worked as a Special Advisor for the former governor Ayodele Fayose during his first tenure.

She now serves as president of the Ekiti State Chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria.

Oyebode was recruited by Governor Kayode Fayemi in his first term as a Special Assistant on Media before being promoted to the position of the Chief Press Secretary. Oyebode is a native of Ido Ile in the Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Oyebode was appointed to the same position by Fayemi in 2018 and held the job till the end of the government before being reappointed by Oyebanji.

Additionally, Oyebanji has commanded that all government accounts be immediately closed until further notice.

In a press release issued by his chief press secretary, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji ordered all accounting officers in government to follow the order in the national interest.
