A group of angry women, who called themselves Concerned Delta Women, have come out to condemn what they called intimidation of their daughter, ex-wife of the Alema of Warri Kingdom, Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan out of her husband’s house by a Senatorial candidate in Kogi State, Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan.

The women, who recorded a video while noting that Natasha could not represent women in politics, having been allegedly exposed through a solicitors’ letter that she threatened her current husband into marrying her by demanding N10bn damages for “breach of promise of marriage, poisoning, foeticide”, among others.

The letter titled, “Uduaghan: Natasha Akpoti Not Fit To Represent Nigerian Women”, was read by the leader of the group, Mrs. Ejiro Onoriode.

The statement read, “We have been following the buzz, particularly on social media, around how a female politician from Kogi State, Natasha Akpoti, blackmailed someone who is supposed to be a son of the soil in Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, into marrying her.

“For us, this would not even have been a problem because marriage, whether forced or natural, is a contract between two adults and however a man walks into it is nobody’s business. But because this has to do with deliberate injustice against a woman of virtue, who is a daughter of this land, we cannot fold our hands and watch this slide.

“In a document, titled: ‘In The Matter of Breach of Promise Of Marriage, Poisoning, Foeticide, Inducing Loss Of Amenities, Assault, Causing Financial Loss And Indebtedness To Natasha Akpoti,’ which leaked to the press a few days ago, Natasha Akpoti had, before she finally made Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan marry her, accused him of so many crimes, including even poisoning and foeticide.

“From this document that we have seen, which close family members have verified, it can be easily established that our daughter, Alero Uduaghan, who comes from an outstanding background, and reportedly met her husband as a virgin, was, in a very cruel way, forced out of her matrimonial home by another woman who, from reports, has children in controversial circumstances from three different men in a ‘one child per husband’ scenario.

“For fear of her life and the humiliation surrounding the occurrence, the bona-fide owner of the Emmanuel Uduaghan home has left the house. But we the women of virtue in Delta State would want the world to call out Natasha Akpoti and ask her what her kind of character is doing in politics. We have women of substance everywhere in Nigeria who can represent the interest of our women in places of authority. Not one who has caused pain, mental illness and unthinkable pain to fellow women, as evidenced by this letter from her solicitors.

“We have evidences of threats she issued to both Alero and her father before she finally blackmailed Uduaghan into succumbing, how she tortured her with fabricated lies, videos and all. Until she is able to prove that she did not instruct a lawyer to write this letter, no woman or any Nigerian should take anything Natasha says seriously.

“We are hereby issuing her a warning to retrace her steps and not completely destroy a family foundation that was built on trust. If our sister and daughter cannot fight for herself, we will tell Natasha that you don’t poke your finger into the eye of a Delta woman and go scot-free. The God of the virtuous will fight the battle.

“When we talk of women representation in politics, we are talking of representation by women of virtue, not the likes of Natasha who would go to any length of blackmail to get what does not belong to them, as exposed by her lawyers’ letter.

“We call on well meaning women to rise up to the defence of Alero Uduaghan and her children. We have, on our own, raised an army of Delta women, at home and abroad, for consistent fasting and prayer, mentoring and all, until the wrongs are made right.”
