In an inspiring showcase of culinary excellence and cultural pride, Chef Tilewa Odedina, popularly known as Chef Tilly, captivated audiences at the GTCO Food and Drink Festival with a masterclass that celebrated the richness of African cuisine.
Opening the first session of the day, on 3rd April, 2025, Chef Tilly delivered a stellar performance with her master class entitled “African Flavours For A Healthier You”, it highlighted her signature fusion of traditional African flavors and modern culinary techniques.
A Cordon Bleu-trained chef, certified nutritionist, and partner chef for Miele Nigeria, Chef Tilly is also a respected authority in culinary education.
Her session was a tasteful journey through the continent’s diverse ingredients—crafted into meals that struck a perfect balance between taste, nutrition, and heritage.
The audience was visibly moved by the passion and artistry she brought to the stage.

Speaking on the relationship between food and health, Chef Tilly emphasized that food can be powerful medicine when prepared with intention and proportion. She explained that even when people cannot afford conventional medicine, natural foods, if used wisely, can support healing and maintain the body’s equilibrium.
She also used the opportunity to mentor aspiring chefs, encouraging them to pursue excellence relentlessly. Being passionate, disciplined and continuous learning would propel them. She added that the culinary world is vast and rewarding.
