In a significant milestone for security and community engagement, the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Command, has officially commissioned the Zonal Scorpion Squad Base in Odan Otun, Itele, Awori Kingdom, Ogun State. At the commissioning ceremony, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 2, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, commended the Itele community for the successful completion of the structure within an impressive three-month timeline. In his goodwill remarks, the Olota Of Ota, Oba (Prof) Adeyemi Obalanlege described the Onitele as a loving traditional ruler whose tenure has brought progress and development, not only to the ancient town of Itele but also Aworiland.

Responding, the Onitele of Itele Kingdom, Oba Musiliu Ademola Eletu (Asorotalaya I), described the commissioning as a memorable moment in the community’s journey toward greater security. He acknowledged the significant decline in crime rates since the deployment of the current Area Commander and pledged the continued support of the community in ensuring peace, safety, and lawfulness throughout Itele Awori Kingdom.

The event brought together traditional rulers, council of chiefs, baales, community development associations, security stakeholders, and law enforcement officials, underscoring a shared commitment to collaboration in securing lives and property.
