The Nigerian Army has announced that its’ 81 Division will be conducting the Second Annual Range Classification Exercise 2025 from 18th August to 28th September 2025, at the 81 Division Shooting Range in Ajilete, Ogun State. The training is part of the Army’s 2025 forecast of events and will feature troop movements and the firing of live ammunition.
In a statement signed by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division, Lieutenant Colonel M.A. Yahaya, residents of Ajilete and neighbouring communities were urged not to be alarmed by the sounds of gunfire or the sight of troop movements during the period. He assured the public that the exercise is a routine military training aimed at enhancing the operational readiness of troops.
Lieutenant Colonel Yahaya also advised farmers, herders and other law abiding citizens operating near the range area to stay clear of the designated training zones for their own safety. He called on members of the press to help disseminate the information widely in order to promote public safety and understanding throughout the duration of the exercise.
