The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, has described the Youth Anti-Crime Advocacy Campaign jointly coordinated by the Police Complaint Response Unit (CRU) and Eagles Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiatives (ECAPI) as timely and beneficial to crime prevention and public trust.

The campaign, led by ECAPI’s Samuel Eniola Adams, was flagged off Friday at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja with roadshows and distribution of educational materials to sensitise residents on crime prevention and how to report police misconduct. Representing the CP, DCP Anthony Placid said the collaboration would strengthen cooperation, intelligence sharing and community relations.

CRU Head at Force Headquarters, SP Fidelis, said the partnership aims to rebuild trust, stressing that bail is free and that both giver and receiver of bribes could be prosecuted, while Adams said the grassroots outreach would also reinforce the IGP’s zero-tolerance for corruption and extortion.
