The Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat, has been conferred with the prestigious Anti-Corruption Leadership Award by the Fight Against Corruption Organisation (FACO), a Non-Governmental Organisation committed to promoting transparency and accountability in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Sector Public Education Officer, RC Oluwadamilola Jayeola, the award was described as a recognition of Corps Commander Hamzat’s unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and exemplary leadership in road safety and public service. FACO Convener, Mr. Francis Shopekan, during a courtesy visit to the Lagos Sector Headquarters, reiterated the organisation’s mission of partnering with government agencies to combat corruption, raise public awareness and entrench good governance across all sectors.
Mr. Shopekan specifically applauded Corps Commander Hamzat’s remarkable track record as the pioneer Corridor Commander of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, where he led decisive operations against one-way driving and successfully coordinated the removal of gas-laden tankers in 2020 and 2021 without compromise.
Responding, Corps Commander Hamzat expressed profound appreciation for the honour, describing it as both a privilege and a call to higher responsibility. He reaffirmed his dedication to upholding the highest ethical standards, while continuing to promote professionalism, accountability and public trust in the Lagos Sector Command.
