The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has congratulated the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Benjamin Hundeyin, on his promotion to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), describing it as a well-earned recognition of professionalism and consistent performance.
The Association noted that the elevation reflects the growing importance of credible and strategic communication in modern policing.
In a statement released by CRAN President, Olalekan Olabulo, the group praised Hundeyin’s tenure for its transparency, intellectual depth and constructive engagement with the media, which it said has strengthened public trust in the Police. CRAN also commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for approving the promotion, viewing it as a clear demonstration of merit-based leadership within the Force.
The Association highlighted Hundeyin’s balanced approach to information management and his role in reshaping police-media relations through professionalism and openness. It expressed confidence that ACP Hundeyin will continue to deliver strong leadership in his new rank, while reaffirming its commitment to partnering with the Nigeria Police Force in promoting responsible crime reporting and effective security communication nationwide.
