As part of efforts to ensure a safer Lagos and promote a crime-free society, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, visited Area ‘M’ Police Command to strengthen security collaboration among stakeholders. Speaking at a security town hall meeting, CP Tijani expressed displeasure over numerous complaints of cultism within the Area ‘M’ jurisdiction, warning that “it won’t be business as usual.”

The CP reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-led strategies to tackle security challenges and ensure criminals have no hiding place in Lagos, stressing that the security of lives and property remains the top priority. Stakeholders at the forum, including traditional rulers, captains of industry, politicians, PCRC members, CDA delegates, artisans, ECAPI, senior police officers, RTEAN, NURTW, and other sister agencies, reiterated their support for the CP through information sharing and intelligence gathering.

Area ‘M’ Commander, ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda, urged parents and guardians to report suspicious movement to authorities while assuring sustained police visibility. CP Fatai concluded by stressing that discipline, integrity, and respect for human rights would be strictly enforced, noting that the Lagos Police Command maintains zero tolerance for corruption and all forms of misconduct by officers.
