The General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola, has reaffirmed the Division’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps Zone 2 Lagos to enhance security and safety on roads across Lagos and Ogun States. He gave the assurance on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, when Zonal Commanding Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Mathew Olonisaye, paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters 81 Division, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Major General Babalola said the visit reflects the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy on Strategic Cooperation, stressing that security and safety cannot be achieved by any single agency. He noted that complementary roles of armed and unarmed security agencies are critical to safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order. The GOC commended FRSC Zone 2 Lagos for its dedication to road safety and assured the Corps of the Division’s full support in discharging its statutory duties.
Earlier, ACM Olonisaye said the visit was to familiarize with the Division and appreciate the longstanding cordial relationship, which he hopes to strengthen further. He lauded the Nigerian Army for its sense of ownership toward FRSC, citing training opportunities extended to Corps personnel and troops’ efforts in securing major routes that boost FRSC operations. He advocated for sustained synergy through joint operations, joint training exercises, and enhanced intelligence sharing between both organizations.
