The General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, has charged newly graduated soldiers of Driver Basic Course 1/26 to demonstrate responsibility and discipline as they return to their units. The charge was delivered on Thursday, 30 April 2026, during the graduation ceremony at the 75 Supply and Transport Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Represented by the Division Training Officer, Brigadier General HM Bello, the GOC stressed adherence to speed limits, proper understanding of road signs, and the need for professionalism and good conduct. He noted that the course was designed to address the shortage of qualified drivers within the Division. Major General Babalola commended instructors and staff of 75 ST Brigade for their dedication in equipping trainees with practical and theoretical knowledge.
In his welcome remarks, Acting Commander 75 Supply and Transport Brigade, Col IM Akosim, praised the graduates for their discipline and urged them to uphold high standards and apply all skills learned. The course, which commenced in February 2026, trained 43 personnel drawn from units and formations within the Division’s Area of Responsibility.
