Operatives of SWAT, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested two suspected cattle rustlers and recovered a stolen cow valued at N1.7 million, a knife, and the operational vehicle used in the crime. The swift response followed a distress call from a farmer in the Ifo/Ibogun axis in the early hours of Thursday, 30 April 2026.
At about 2:30 a.m., the suspects, Muhammed Monsur and Olaseinde Olatunji, allegedly invaded a dairy farm at Omitoro Village via Coker, Ifo/Ibogun, and rustled a cow. SWAT operatives mobilized immediately and intercepted the duo as they attempted to flee in a “Korope” mini bus after suspicious movements were noticed. Preliminary investigation revealed they are part of a four-man gang, with two accomplices escaping into nearby bush.
The stolen cow was recovered, photographed for evidence, and released to the owner. The operational mini bus and a knife were also recovered and secured at the Ibogun SWAT office. The suspects are in custody as investigation continues, with efforts underway to apprehend the fleeing members.
