Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects in Atiba, Ijebu-Ode, after personnel of the Nigeria Forest Security Service apprehended them on June 4, 2026. Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit identified them as Gafaru Adamu, 25, and Muhammed Sanni, 20, following extensive profiling. Preliminary findings link the pair to a kidnapping and murder case in Okada, Edo State, and intelligence indicates they are alleged members of a seven-man syndicate connected to the incident.
During the arrest, police recovered one pair of police camouflage uniform and three mobile phones, which have been documented as exhibits. Since the alleged offences occurred outside Ogun State, the Command said the suspects and exhibits will be transferred to Edo State Police Command in line with inter-state policing procedures, as Edo has primary jurisdiction for further investigation and prosecution.
Ogun CP Bode Ojajuni commended the operatives for swift intelligence gathering that led to the arrests and recovery. He reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to stop criminal elements from using Ogun as a hideout or transit point, pledging continued intelligence-led policing and inter-state collaboration to strengthen public safety.
