VCRU operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, with support from Isara Area Command and Isara Division, have disrupted a suspected cult initiation and arrested 30 male suspects in Isara-Remo. The raid took place on 16 June 2026 at 1600hrs after intelligence showed a group had gathered at an uncompleted building for unlawful meetings, drinking, chanting and initiation rites. Among those arrested are Muiz Olawale, Adeniji Akinwale, Ajayi Victor, Damilola Oluwasegun, Adewale Olayemi, Aminu Rahmon and 24 others.

The tactical team stormed the location, dispersed the group and recovered four vehicles abandoned during the escape attempt. Exhibits recovered include one jack knife, a local drum, a sekere rattle, and bottles suspected to have been used for alcohol at the illegal assembly.

All suspects are now in custody at SCID Abeokuta pending investigation and prosecution, while police continue to hunt fleeing members. CP Bode Ojajuni praised the operatives’ swift response and professionalism, calling it proof of the Command’s intelligence-led approach and zero tolerance for cultism.
