The National Universities Commission has approved 10 new postgraduate programmes for the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, expanding access to advanced education in security and professional fields. The approval followed a resource verification visit by an NUC team, which assessed facilities, learning materials and faculty before clearing the Academy to run the courses full-time.

The approved programmes cover crime management, peace studies, law, business and science: MCM and PGD in Crime Management, Prevention and Control; PGD in Peace and Conflict Studies; PGD in Police Studies; http://M.Sc. and MBA in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship; PGD and http://M.Sc. in Management Studies; PGD and http://M.Sc. in Law; PGD and http://M.Sc. in Biochemistry; PGD and http://M.Sc. in Financial Economics; and PGD and http://M.Sc. in Forensic DNA.

The Academy, previously focused on senior police officers, said the programmes are now open to personnel from other security and intelligence agencies and to the general public. It noted that details on application deadlines, entry requirements and registration portals will be announced soon.
