The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the General Overseer and founder of First Born Church, Isolo, over alleged sexual assault of two daughters of a church member. The suspect was picked up after a petition dated July 28, 2026 was submitted by the victims’ father, who is also an adherent of the church.
According to a police source, the pastor allegedly began having sexual intercourse with the eldest daughter when she was 13 years old at the church premises, and continued until she turned 16 and gained admission into university. The abuse came to light after the suspect allegedly assaulted the younger sister, 14, on two occasions. The source said he used “manipulative biblical injunctions” to indoctrinate both girls. The younger daughter later reported to her parents, after which the elder sister also opened up about the years of abuse.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr. Fatai Tijani, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, to carry out a thorough investigation. The case is being handled by the Gender Section of SCID under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dayo Akinbisehin. Police said the suspect has made a confession and will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.
