The Nigeria Police Force has announced the 6th Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers, CARSPO 2026, scheduled for September 21 to 23, 2026, in Owerri, Imo State. The event, being organised in partnership with Lenders Consult International, will open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026.

With the theme “Developing a Nigeria Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Security During Elections,” the conference will assemble Commissioners of Police and above, security experts, and key stakeholders. The focus is to assess emerging threats to electoral security and agree on practical measures to guarantee safe, peaceful and credible polls ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Deliberations will cover intelligence-led policing, police-community partnerships, and the deployment of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence to enhance operations before, during, and after elections. The Force said outcomes from CARSPO 2026 will guide strategies for protecting voters, INEC personnel, candidates, electoral materials and the public. It added that the conference reflects its commitment to strengthening leadership, professionalism and operational readiness for the 2027 elections.
