A Jos-based child-focused organisation, Guardian Initiative for Community Development (GICD), has thrown its weight behind the Geneith Health Competition (GHC), sponsoring secondary school students under its care to join the nationwide anti-malaria advocacy drive.

GICD, headquartered on Tafawa Balewa Street, Jos, said the move extends its commitment to education, child protection and youth empowerment, turning beneficiaries into malaria prevention advocates within their households and communities. The students were registered during an activation visit by GHC field officer, Amos Sunday, who commended the NGO for removing financial barriers to participation.

Organised by CEOAFRICA and sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals with ₦1bn in cash, scholarships and educational materials, the competition seeks to mobilise secondary and tertiary students for malaria awareness in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health. Initiator, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, and Geneith Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, praised GICD’s intervention and urged other community groups, schools and leaders to enlist students before registration closes.
