The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, on 19th October, 2026 inspected the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) Skills Acquisition Centre at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, alongside members of the Command Management Team.
The visit highlights the Command’s commitment to women empowerment, enterprise development and crime prevention through productive engagement.
POWA Acting Chairperson, Mrs. Bolanle Adeoye, and executive members received the CP and conducted him round facilities at the Centre, including the Photography Studio and Make-up Studio.
The Centre is established to provide practical vocational training for POWA members and the general public, with focus on entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods and empowerment of women and youths.
Addressing POWA, CP Ojajuni urged the Association to build strong partnerships with government agencies, private sector players, manufacturers, vocational institutions and development partners to evolve the Centre into a thriving industrial hub.
According to him, the Centre should go beyond skills acquisition to become a platform for enterprise creation, productive ventures and job generation that promotes self-reliance.
He noted that economic empowerment remains a critical complement to conventional policing, as sustainable livelihoods help tackle socio-economic drivers of crime, while also providing avenues for crime prevention education and positive community engagement.
CP Ojajuni commended Mrs. Adeoye and the POWA executive for their vision and dedication to human capital development, pledging the Command’s full support to ensure the Centre achieves its objectives and expands its impact on empowerment and community safety.
