The Delta State Police Command has rescued a 23-year-old man abducted at Owa-Alero and arrested eight suspects in coordinated operations between October 20 and 23, 2026.
The victim was reportedly kidnapped in front of his residence on October 19 and taken into a nearby bush. Operatives of Owa-Oyibu Division, working with local volunteer groups, rescued him the next day after an intensive bush search. In another operation, operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit raided a hotel in Abraka believed to be used for drug-related activities, arresting six suspected cultists and recovering a firearm and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit Sector III, Ubuluku, raided two residences at Ekuku-Agbor in Ika South LGA, arresting 62-year-old Richard Nmorsi with a locally fabricated single-barrel gun, 24 cartridges and suspected hemp, and 56-year-old Amechi Osemeke with a double-barrel firearm and a live cartridge. Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel E. Erale, said the Command remains committed to intelligence-led operations to dismantle criminal networks and urged residents to provide credible information.
