Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old butcher, Selim Ayodele, over the alleged murder of his colleague, Ibrahim Wasiu, 26, following a quarrel at their workplace in Alagbole.
The incident occurred on 18th October, 2026, and was reported at Ajuwon Police Station around 8:00 p.m. Police said both men had closed for the day at a cow meat shop when an argument over who should sweep the floor degenerated. Ayodele allegedly grabbed a knife, stabbed Wasiu in the left chest and twisted the weapon.
Wasiu was rushed to Life Hospital where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival. His body has been deposited at Life Channel Private Mortuary, Lanbe, Ajuwon, for autopsy, while the suspect remains in custody as investigation continues.
CP Bode said the Command will ensure thorough investigation and prosecution, urging residents to avoid violent reactions to minor disagreements and to report incidents promptly.
