Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested Shobande Taofeek, 36, for allegedly vandalizing railway infrastructure in Arigbajo.
Acting on intelligence, SWAT operatives mounted surveillance in the axis on October 23, 2026, and apprehended the suspect. He led them to an uncompleted building where 16 railway iron rods and two gas cylinders used for cutting the tracks were recovered.
The suspect allegedly confessed to similar acts on three previous occasions. The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, said manhunt for other members of the syndicate is ongoing, assuring that the Command will not relent in protecting public assets and critical infrastructure.
