The Tinubu Progressive Advocates (TPA) on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, formally inaugurated its Lagos State chapter alongside its national executive and state coordinators, marking a major step in its nationwide mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The colourful ceremony, held at the Iru/Victoria Island Local Government Secretariat, Muri-Okunola Street, Victoria Island, was attended by a high-powered delegation of political stakeholders and sports personalities. The event was sponsored by Prince Olayinka Ajasa Oniru, who was unveiled as Lagos State Coordinator.

Delivering his welcome address, the National Coordinator, Amb. Lion Moses Ebahor, expressed appreciation to dignitaries present, including representatives of the Lagos and Yobe state governors and their deputies. The Executive Chairman of Iru/Victoria Island Local Government was also represented by the vice-chairman.

Other notable attendees included the Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Alhaji Gaffar Liameed, members of TPA’s national leadership, the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, representatives of the Nigerian Supporters Club, and ambassadors of the organisation.

Amb. Ebahor used the occasion to unveil one of TPA’s flagship youth engagement initiatives – a plan to distribute five million footballs across Lagos State. He described the initiative as a deliberate strategy to connect with young people through their passion for sports while deepening political consciousness at the grassroots.

According to him, the footballs will be distributed across all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in the state, with youth clubs, schools, and community football centres as primary beneficiaries. The project, he said, reflects the organisation’s belief that youth engagement must go beyond rhetoric to practical, relatable interventions.

“This initiative is about meeting young people where their passion lies. Football unites us, it builds community, and through it we can build a stronger movement to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda beyond 2027,” Ebahor stated.

He noted that the Lagos inauguration follows successful launches in Abuja and Kaduna, and is strategic to consolidating APC’s dominance in the South-West. He added that TPA would sustain its mobilisation through stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and innovative youth programmes.

In his acceptance speech, the new Lagos State Coordinator, Prince Olayinka Ajasa Oniru, welcomed guests and described his appointment as both an honour and a call to service. He said leading the Lagos chapter presents an opportunity to build meaningful and lasting relationships with communities across the state.

Prince Oniru pledged that under his leadership, the Lagos chapter would operate with integrity, inclusivity, and a clear commitment to national development and the re-election of President Tinubu. He assured that the chapter would work closely with party structures, community leaders, and youth organisations to achieve its mandate.

The inauguration formally establishes TPA’s operational structure in Lagos, providing the group with a coordinated platform to drive grassroots engagement, sports-based outreach, and political mobilisation as the countdown to the 2027 general elections begins.
