The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the national secretariat of the party, as well as significant and crucial stakeholders, have been praised by the campaign team for the appointment of their principal as the Head of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign for the North-Central zone.

Given his extensive network of contacts, experience, devotion to the party, commitment, and intellectual prowess, the team further expressed confidence that the selection of Hon. Igbawua would further revitalise and strengthen the party across the six states of the North-Central.

Hon. Barr. Chille Igbawua, a former member of the House of Representatives, ex-Deputy Chief of Staff and one-time Special Adviser on Legislative/Legal Matters to two Speakers of the House of Representatives, is also the immediate-past Chief Commissioner/CEO of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).

He had aspired to fly the flag of the PDP at the recently-concluded governorship primary election in Benue State but withdrew at the last minute following the zoning arrangement of the party in the State. He also chaired the Forum of PDP Aspirants for the 2023 Governorship Election in Benue State.

In a statement signed by the media coordinator of the campaign team, Mr Andrew Oota, a copy of which was made available to journalists, he said the Head of the North-Central Campaign of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign, has the ability, intellect, and competence to galvanize, coordinate and deliver on his mandate.
Oota stressed that the PDP will win the North-Central zone “convincingly and overwhelming”.

The team assured that Benue State in particular, with a sitting governor, national chairman of the party, former President of the Senate, three Senators, majority of the House of Representatives members, majority of the State House of Assembly members, and all elected council chairmen as members of the PDP, the party will not struggle to win all the elective positions in the 2023 elections.

The team further maintained that the PDP as a legacy party with the right people to drive an issue-based campaign will ensure that all hands will be on the deck for a resounding victory come 2023 general elections in the North-Central and Nigeria at large.
The team expressed satisfaction that the 5-point agenda of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign of Reunification, Economy, Security, Education, and True Federalism speaks to the very issues that agitate the minds of Nigerians at the moment.
