Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, an APC candidate for governor of Sokoto State, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and state security personnel to permit free and fair elections without undue interference.

When hundreds of Sokoto Amalgamated Traders Union members visited him in support, Aliyu expressed his confidence that the APC would win the state if everyone was permitted to vote as specified in the Electoral Act.

As he explained that if given the go-ahead and elected as the state’s governor, he would safeguard the welfare of Sokoto state traders, he expressed happiness with the large number of individuals who participated in the solidarity march.
He said, “As it is now, the PDP-led government in the state has failed in boosting all business activities, creating youth empowerment, improving agricultural development, enhancing educational development, and uplifting the welfare of the state civil service, among many other sectors in the state.

“I pledge to reinvigorate all sectors rendered incapacitated by the present administration for proper human capital development.”
He described the procession of about eighty associations as colorful and an indication of success for APC.
The spokesperson of the associations, Alhaji Bello Mai Jama’a, said the procession was done just as a mark of respect to felicitate the leadership of the party and to express their support for the APC Gubernatorial candidate of the state.
