Former Imo State governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, claims that Senator Hope Uzodimma, his replacement, is terrified of the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the illegal Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
In response to a purported letter allegedly written by him asking the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, to keep Kanu in custody despite the Court of Appeal’s decision declaring him discharged and acquitted, Ihedioha said this in a statement he personally signed and titled “When Silence is not golden.”
Hope Uzodimma should be terrified of a free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, according to Ihedioha. The lengths he and his fellow villains will go to in order to maintain the power they obtained dishonestly are demonstrated by the creation of such a letter. I have chosen not to remain silent in the face of this criminal slander of my character despite the fact that Nigerians are aware that those who can fabricate voting results for manufactured votes can fabricate anything because the evil plots would get worse as the 2023 elections draw near.

He urged security to find those who fabricated the letter and prosecute them. “I therefore encourage the security agencies to investigate those who fabricated this clear fraud and prosecute them,” he said.
He claimed that following his removal from office, the culprits realized that the true problem was his alleged popularity with the populace and that they were actively striving to undermine it.
I understand their predicament, Ihedioha said. After they were successful in their terrible plan to have me removed from office, they understood that the main conflict was winning the public’s hearts and minds. And that’s proving challenging. They are now desperate because they have failed to win over Imo State’s good people over the past 34 months. and also growing risky. They are now cooperating with political renegades across party lines because they are so dangerous.
“Emeka Ihedioha was their worst nightmare while in office. To their utter dismay, they have also come to the realization that I have remained a greater enemy even after leaving government, which is why they have been running a constant campaign of smears with the aim of tarnishing my name and driving a wedge between me and Imolites. Nothing is off-limits when doing this. They have fabricated documents, created voicemails, lied, and made the most of social media tossing mud to see who stays.
The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives added, “They use subjects that are really important to our people in their evil project. A letter purportedly written by me to the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, advising him not to uphold the Appeal Court decision that cleared and exonerated Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in order to avoid jeopardizing the 2023 elections, were two of these cunning acts.
“Knowing my background and current situation, it is absurd and hilarious that I will be writing to the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and pleading with him to continue holding Nnamdi Kanu against the will of the law even after a court of competent jurisdiction has released him. What advantages will writing such a letter have for me in a situation that is so volatile, sensitive, and public? What kind of sense does that make?”
Ihedioha, who is reportedly interested in running for governor of Imo, said he was not overly concerned because his supporters “know better.” However, we cannot go on with criminals ruling the day.

Despite all of the provocations, he insisted that since his removal from office on January 14, 2020, “when the Supreme Court of Nigeria supplanted the electoral will of the good people of Imo State by removing me from office, I have maintained a studious silence, refusing to join issues with malcontents who orchestrated the judicial heist, I have remained silent.” I made a conscious decision to follow the adage “quiet is golden” and refrain from stirring up emotions in our Dear State. But there comes a point where remaining silent is no longer a virtue. The moment has come. Some folks seem to be dissatisfied with their stolen mandate.
