The AIG Zone 2, AIG Ari Mohammed Ali, has held an interactive parley with journalists on activities within the zone and using the media to ensure there is adequate reporting of crime and also using the media as a highly informative medium to deseminate information security issues and building up public trust.
Assistant Inspector General Ari Mohammed Ali, clearly stated the IGP’S stance on media collaboration. The meeting went on full gear with the AIG reiterating on his role as AIG, not just in a supervisory capacity but to ensure frequent police patrols across Lagos and Ogun states. According to him, the security of Lagos State has a rippling effect all over the country as once safety and security in Lagos is assured, then by extension, other states in Nigeria also can be calm as Lagos State is the yardstick for measuring true national security. Thus, Lagos State has to be kept relatively crime free.

As Assistant Inspector General in charge of zone 2, he has promised to continue to key into the policies of the Inspector General. This entails that there will be an open door policy to the public, there will be no room for violation of human rights and there will not be tolerance of officers using their offices to abuse power.
