The recent recruitment of political aides by Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Badaru Abubakar with just a few months left in his term has been criticized as misleading by Dr. Mustapha Lamido, the PDP’s candidate for governor in the general election of 2023 in Jigawa State.
Lamido responded in a statement released in Abuja by Umar Kyari Jitau Madamuwa, the campaign directorate’s deputy director of media and publicity.
The PDP candidate for governor described the event as a “panic appointment” and a disgusting deed that shouldn’t occur, considering that the appointees no longer had time to settle in and serve the people.
According to the statement, Lamido made this claim while speaking to PDP supporters from the state’s Ringim Local Government Area during ongoing interactive sessions with party officials from all local governments.

“I questioned how on earth a government with barely five months to leave office can resort to misleading its citizens by making appointments that were intended to be completed seven years ago,” the statement read.
When elected, he pledged to bring the state together and ensured that development projects would be located in every corner of the state. He also urged the stakeholders to work together so that PDP could win with impressive results.
At light of the widespread APC and other smaller party members’ defection to the PDP, Alh. Ali Beguwa, Chairman of the Ringim Local Government chapter of the PDP, earlier gave the assurance that the party would be present in all voting places.
