The Nigerian Army has commenced its 2026 Master Warrant Officer to Army Warrant Officer promotion board with over 500 candidates in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Flagging off the exercise on Tuesday at the Cultural Centre, the Chief of Personnel Management (Army), Maj.-Gen. Adewale Adekeye, said the AWO rank remains the pinnacle for enlisted personnel and only the most qualified would be selected. He urged candidates to uphold discipline and professionalism and tasked board members to ensure fairness and impartiality.

Candidates will also undergo comprehensive medical tests to confirm physical and mental fitness. The GOC 81 Division, Maj.-Gen. Adebayo Babalola, said the Division, hosting the exercise at 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, from October 5-18, has put measures in place for a hitch-free board.
