Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has claimed that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, worked against his election as the party’s presidential candidate.
He claimed that Ayu urged many presidential candidates to withdraw in favour of Atiku Abubakar, who eventually won the ticket.

He mentioned Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, his Sokoto counterpart Aminu Tambuwal, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki as among those contacted to withdraw their support for Atiku.
