The Comprehensive Secondary School (CSS) Idumuje-Ugboko Class of 1983 has officially inaugurated its new executive members in a remarkable ceremony held at the residence of Mr. Jackson Ikechukwu, in Idumuje Ugboko Aniocha North L. G.A. of Delta State.
This event marked a significant milestone for the alumni association, highlighting its ongoing commitment to fostering unity, advancing educational support, and contributing positively to the development of the institution and the wider community.
The historic inauguration, which took place on December 26th, 2024, attracted several alumni members, dignitaries, and community leaders. The well-attended event featured an array of activities, including speeches, presentations, and a formal swearing ceremony for the newly elected executives. The event was designed not only to celebrate the class’s achievements so far, but also to inspire future generations of students at CSS Idumuje-Ugboko.
The alumni association has become a strong support network for the school, ensuring that it continues to thrive through various initiatives and contributions. The presence of key stakeholders during the inauguration emphasized the growing importance of alumni involvement in shaping the school’s future.
The New Executive Members is to take helm of affairs of the association for the next two years.
The event’s highlight was the swearing-in of the new executive members, who were carefully voted for, to steer the alumni association towards greater success. The newly elected officers include:

With the elections concluded, Prince Eziashi Walter conducted the induction ceremony for the newly elected officers.
In addition, Mr. Chuks Klynx extended his gratitude on behalf of Mr. Awunor, thanking the members for their trust and commitment to making the association’s taken off successfully.
Also, Each officer pledged to uphold the ideals of the Class of 1983, prioritizing the welfare of the school and it’s members, fostering stronger alumni relationships, and ensuring the continued success of the institution through various educational and philanthropic initiatives.
The inauguration ceremony featured several keynote speeches from prominent alumni, including a stirring address by the the Vice President Mrs. Buchi Anene, who reflected on the importance of alma matter engagements, and the role that alumni play in the success of the school. Her message focused on how alumni contributions will work towards providing scholarships, infrastructure development, enrollment of some of the national examinations for the students and career mentoring opportunities to mention but a few for the current students.
The newly elected vice chairman, also spoke passionately about her vision for the association. She emphasized the need to strengthen the bonds between former students and current students, promoting mentorship programs that will enable today’s students to benefit from the vast experiences of alumni in various fields.
One of the primary goals of the newly inaugurated executives is to create stronger ties among the alumni members and increase collaboration for the betterment of the school. Plans are already underway to host more events, including fundraising activities aimed at improving the school’s infrastructure and providing scholarships for talented yet underprivileged students.
Mr. Jackson expressed his commitment to ensuring that the association meets its obligations, and pleaded with members to strive in contributing their own quota in ensuring the sustainability of the association, and ensuring that desired goals were achieved.
In her speech, Mrs. Felicia Nene, the Metron, thanked Mr. Jackson Ikechukwu for hosting the event.
She went further to highlight the importance of financial contributions from alumni in sustaining these initiatives. She shared insights into the association’s history, and advised for financial transparency and strategic use of funds to maximize impact.
Furthermore, the alumni association plans to work closely with the school’s administration to support the educational needs of current students. The Class of 1983 is determined to ensure that the legacy of excellence continues at Comprehensive Secondary School Idumuje-Ugboko.
The event also underscored the commitment of the Class of 1983 to the broader Idumuje-Ugboko community.
