Delta State Police Command has arrested four members of a gun-running syndicate linked to the unlawful possession of a Beretta pistol recovered at a park in Effurun, Uvwie LGA on May 1, 2026. The suspects—Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa, Amadi Princewill, and Amadi Felix Chibuike—were picked up in Bayelsa and Imo states after painstaking, intelligence-led operations by Command operatives. Police said all four are members of the Black Axe confraternity.
Investigations revealed Emmanuel Chukwuemeka was arrested in Bayelsa on May 4, 2026, alongside his roommate whose phone he used to arrange the gun purchase. He confessed buying the pistol from Amadi Princewill for ₦290,000 and reselling it to a suspect identified as Desmond, now at large, for ₦380,000. Desmond allegedly way-billed the firearm to Effurun and contacted Oghenemine Ogidi, now deceased, to collect and forward it to Sapele. Following Emmanuel’s confession, Amadi Princewill was trailed and arrested in Imo State on May 15, 2026. He told police he bought the gun from Amadi Felix for ₦200,000, leading to Amadi Felix’s arrest in Owerri on May 16, 2026.
The Command said all suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation, while a manhunt for Desmond and other accomplices continues. Police reiterated their commitment to dismantling arms trafficking networks in the state and urged residents to provide credible information that can help track other members of the syndicate.
