The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N11.1 billion for the reconstruction of Musin-Isolo-NNPC-Apapa Èjigbò-Oshodi road in Lagos state.
Briefing newsmen on Wednesday after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, the Ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; FCT, Mohammed Bello; Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Farouq, and Transportation, Muazu Jaji Sambo, gave breakdown of various contract approvals.
The other presentation by the ministry is the report of the recommendation of the council committee in order to respond to demands by the state governments for the refund of interventions made on federal roads in Kebbi, Yobe and Taraba states.
Fashola also disclosed henceforth, state government will not be refunded for repairing federal roads within their territories.
Still on road construction,the executive council today approved the ministry of humanitarian affairs’ four memos on behalf of the North East development commission in respect of roads reconstruction in five states of Borno,Yobe,Adamawa,Gombe and Bauchi states.
Works and Housing Minister, Fashola, disclosed that Musin-Isolo-NNPC-Apapa Èjigbò Oshodi road project has completion period of 20 months, one of the two memoranda prevented by his ministry.

On his part, FCT Minister, Bello, said the council approved the contract for the provisions of security equipment for the Abuja light rail mass transit system.
The contract covers the provisions of security services for the entire 45 kilometers of tracks including 12 stations at the total sum of N717 million.
Meanwhile ,the ministry of transportation has got approval for the purchase of spare parts and repairs of operational cranes for the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
