While we celebrate our freedom, let us remember those who cannot celebrate with their loved ones because duty has called them away. Let us also remember their families, the children who wait for their parents to return, and the widows and families left behind by those who paid the supreme price in service to our nation.
Today, let our celebrations be accompanied by prayers for their safety, strength and protection. And for those who have fallen in the line of duty, may their sacrifices never be forgotten.
May God continue to strengthen the Armed Forces and all other security agencies, comfort their families and grant Nigeria lasting peace and security.
