Ogun State Police Command has debunked claims that a bus of suspected criminals was spotted on Ibogun Road, Ifo, after the vehicle was stopped by youths on June 3, 2026. Police surveillance and anti-robbery teams responded swiftly and found the bus was carrying 21 labourers hired by the construction firm handling the Ifo–Ibogun Road reconstruction.
Verification confirmed the workers were legitimately engaged for the ongoing federal road project, with no criminal link found. Officers assured the men of safety and escorted them to their work site, while cautioning the public against circulating unverified reports that could spark panic and lead to harassment of innocent people.
The Command urged residents to desist from spreading unconfirmed security information and to channel reports through official channels. It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining order and protecting lives and property across Ifo and Ogun State.
