The Bishop of the Anglican Communion Jebba Diocese of Kwara State, Reverend Oluwaseun Aderogba, his wife a technologist in the Department of Crop Protection, University of Ilorin and their driver have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Ogbomoso / Oyo road.
According to the Kwara state Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Communion, Bishop Sunday Adewole who confirmed the development said the victims were kidnapped on Sunday evening when they were attempting to fix their faulty vehicle along the highway adding that the abductors have contacted the Church demanding the sum of #50 million as ransome.
Bishop Oluwaseun Aderogba, his wife and his driver were said to be returning from a function in Ogun State when the vehicle developed a fault which led to abrupt stoppage of the journey along Oyo/Ogbomosho highway where they were abducted a few kilometres to their destination.
Bishop Sunday Adewole who described the incident as a total collapse of the security architecture of the country said the political class is not sincere in addressing the issue but on winning the 2023 elections.
Bishop also Adewole recommend state police and collaborations between Oyo and Kwara state governors as a way forward.
The kidnapped Bishop of Jebba Diocese, Bishop Oluwaseun Aderogba is admired by many for being media friendly and always advising on the need for good governance.
