IKOYI — The Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, hosted the Force Director of Medical Services, AIG Nkechi Eze, and her team on a working visit on Monday. AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom, who heads the FCID Annex, led the guests on an inspection of the facility’s medical unit. Talks focused on upgrading the health infrastructure and ensuring personnel, especially detectives, get timely access to qualified medical professionals.

AIG Akpanudom said prioritizing officers’ health is critical to maintaining efficiency and professionalism in policing, noting that “health is wealth.” He requested routine medical checks for staff at the Annex and better access to the National Health Insurance Scheme. He added that regular screenings will help detect health issues early, encourage preventive care, and keep officers physically and mentally fit for duty.

In her response, AIG Eze thanked the FCID Annex leadership for the reception and said her team had assessed medical facilities across Lagos formations. She assured that identified needs would be addressed and reaffirmed the Force Medical Services’ commitment to work closely with the Annex to improve healthcare delivery. The visit concluded with the presentation of a recognition plaque to AIG Eze and a group photograph.
