Delta Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has reiterated that religious bodies, especially churches have critical roles to play in moral up-bringing of children.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa said that the society relied greatly on the church for development of the child, particularly as parents found themselves so busy that they are unable to sit down and monitor what goes on in the family.

Governor Okowa made this statement when he received the new Bishop of Asaba Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev’d Kingsley Obuh, who was on courtesy call at Government House, Asaba.

Our asaba correspondent Akpomejero Friday reports that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa noted that church appears to be the only place where children now get their moral education because of parents not having time for their families.

On his part the asaba diocese Anglican Communion, bishop Kingsley Obuh thanked the governor for the good relationship he has kept with the Diocese of Asaba and the entire churches in Delta, Your interest in education is very profound and visible and deltans are praying and hoping that the next regime will continue from where you will stop.
