The Board of Trustees of the National Compliance Joint Taskforce of Licensed Clearing Agents (NCJTFLCA) has demanded an immediate retraction and public apology from _The Reporter http://Diary.com_ over a 31 July 2026 publication alleging that six of its officials refused to honour a police invitation over claims of forgery, cyberstalking and blackmail.
In a rejoinder, the Board described the report as false, misleading and prejudicial. It said the story misrepresented an ongoing dispute with Chief Basil Chudi Nwaolisa, former Interim National President, who was queried in April 2026 over allegations of misconduct, corruption and abuse of office.
According to the Board, Nwaolisa’s response contained “impertinent” statements and threats, and he later attended a Board meeting at Mambo Hotel, Festac with six armed police officers, which it called intimidating. The Board subsequently suspended him and appointed an Acting National President. It also lodged a complaint with the Federal Criminal Investigation Department, FCID Alagbon, Lagos, and later petitioned the Inspector-General of Police to consolidate multiple petitions. The IGP directed that all petitions be consolidated and investigated by FCID Alagbon. The Board said this directive informed its position, and not a refusal to cooperate.
The NCJTFLCA insisted its named Board members “are men of honour and integrity” and will not refuse any lawful police invitation. It reaffirmed commitment to transparency, due process and cooperation with law enforcement, and cautioned that a police invitation does not equate to guilt.
The Board has asked _The Reporter http://Diary.com_ to withdraw the publication within 24 hours, issue an unreserved public apology with prominence equal to the original report, and desist from further dissemination of the allegations unless backed by verified facts. It warned that failure to comply will attract legal action to protect the organisation and affected individuals.
