The Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), has praised the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, DSS and other security agencies for the safe rescue of 20 prospective corps members and one other person abducted in the South East.
Reacting to the operation, Marwa said the feat demonstrates what coordinated, intelligence-led action can deliver. “The safe return of these young Nigerians to their families is a testament to the courage, professionalism and unity of purpose of our security agencies,” he said, adding that Nigeria owes its corps members protection.
He noted recent successful rescues nationwide and pledged NDLEA’s sustained collaboration, stressing that drug trade fuels kidnapping and banditry. “Where drugs flow, insecurity thrives,” he said, urging citizens to provide timely information to security agencies while wishing the rescued corps members quick recovery.
