ABUJA — The Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Captain A. Folorunsho, has lauded Information Officers for their dedication and professionalism in projecting the Service’s activities and achievements. He made the commendation on 7 September 2026 during a meeting with Information Officers at Aduwo Hall, Naval Headquarters, Abuja. Captain Folorunsho charged them to align all media outputs and stories with the Command Philosophy, Vision and Mission of the Chief of the Naval Staff.
He stressed the importance of building stronger media capacity and public relations. The DINFO urged officers to sharpen their public speaking skills, foster good working relationships with the media, and use quality cameras to produce compelling images. He also advised them to train ratings on operating cameras and drones, and to ensure proper documentation and archiving by acquiring and labeling SSD drives for media files, noting that effective record-keeping supports operational memory and accountability.
Captain Folorunsho further directed that Information Officers forward their media plans to the Directorate of Information at least 24 hours before any planned visit by the CNS to their commands to enable effective coordination and coverage. The meeting also provided a platform for officers to share observations on information management and media operations, with the DINFO offering guidance and recommendations on the issues raised.
