The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, on Sunday joined Catholic faithful and senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force at St. Martin’s Police Catholic Church for three major events marking spiritual growth within the Command.

The ceremonies were presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo, Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta Diocese. He administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 65 candidates, blessed the newly built Grotto of Our Mother of Perpetual Help for prayer and reflection, and laid the foundation for the Catholic Chaplains’ House to provide residential accommodation for chaplains. ACP Gloria Otonko, ACP X-Squad and other senior officers were also in attendance.

Speaking at the event, CP Ojajuni congratulated the confirmands and commended the Catholic community for promoting faith, discipline and peaceful coexistence. He said religious tolerance remains key to national security and assured that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to protect the right of all citizens to worship freely under the law.
The CP urged religious leaders to preach unity and reject extremism, and praised Catholic Chaplain, CSP Rev. Fr. Paul Omotosho, for his role in providing spiritual guidance that strengthens moral conduct and integrity among personnel.
