The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has hosted spokespersons of security and paramilitary agencies in the state during a strategic courtesy visit by the Military, Police and Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum, MILPOPPROF, Ogun State Chapter. The delegation, led by the forum’s Chairman and PPRO Ogun State, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, anipr, comprised PROs from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Correctional Service, NDLEA, Federal Fire Service, FRSC, So-Safe Corps, TRACE, Amotekun, NSCDC, and the State Fire Service.
DSP Babaseyi acknowledged CP Ojajuni’s role in founding MILPOPPROF in 2005 while serving as PPRO Lagos Command, noting that the forum was created to promote cooperation and credible security communication. In his response, the CP said the forum was birthed after the 2005/2006 inter-agency clash at Ojuelegba, Lagos, in collaboration with Major Kingsley Umoh of the 81 Division, with the goal of ending rivalry and improving information sharing. He urged today’s spokespersons to preserve that vision while embracing modern, technology-driven communication, and stressed the need to speak with one voice, share accurate information, and build public trust.
CP Ojajuni also charged the officers to remain professional, factual and responsive in public engagements, saying effective communication is critical to peace and community cooperation. Members of MILPOPPROF thanked him for his mentorship and pledged to sustain the legacy of collaboration. The Command reaffirmed its commitment to working with all stakeholders for public safety, and urged residents to stay vigilant and report credible information to the appropriate agencies.
