Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Madam Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, 38. Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, disclosed this Wednesday at Eleweran, Abeokuta. The crime was reported on June 21, 2026 at Owode-Egba after police found the guard’s body locked inside the security house and Oyesiku’s body in a pool of blood in the living room. A Lexus RX 330 belonging to the deceased was missing, prompting robbery and murder suspicion.
CP Ojajuni said technical tracking and intelligence led operatives to recover the stolen Lexus on June 22, 2026 at Onikolobo despite the ignition key and plates being removed. Detectives found the vehicle’s registration plate concealed under a seat to confirm ownership. A handwritten note left at the scene was forensically analyzed and provided key leads. The principal suspect, Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22, was arrested June 24 at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, where he worked as a labourer. Follow-up operations led to the arrest of Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, a security guard, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, a bricklayer.
During interrogation, Philip confessed he recruited Ayoola and Obafunsho and coordinated the June 20 attack “to teach her a lesson” over grievances from when he worked as her guard. He said they overpowered Pelumi to gain entry, killed both victims, and fled with the Lexus. Police recovered a broken hammer, cutlass, plank, and other exhibits. CP Ojajuni said investigation is ongoing to consolidate evidence for diligent prosecution, while all suspects remain entitled to due process. The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice is served.
