Operatives of Obantoko Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested two suspected ‘one-chance’ robbers terrorizing Obantoko and environs after a robbery report on 28 May 2026. The suspects, Odunuga Kehinde and Olajide Rasak, allegedly deviated from route in a Nissan Micra taxi, attacked three sisters, robbed them of valuables including an iPhone 12 Pro, and pushed them out near OLG Somorin.
Acting on a distress call at about 5:15pm, police detectives mobilized with help from residents and intercepted the suspects. The stolen iPhone 12 Pro and other suspected stolen phones were recovered, while the operational vehicle fled. Police intervention also prevented an attempted mob action by angry residents at the scene.
CP Bode Ojajuni commended the swift response and collaboration between officers and the public that led to the arrests and recovery. The recovered iPhone has been returned to the owner on bond, while the suspects remain in custody pending investigation and prosecution. The Command urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity via its emergency lines: 0800 000 9111, 0906 283 7609, 0912 014 1706, 0915 102 7369, 0708 497 2994.
