Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, have sustained offensive pressure under Operation Desert Sanity V, recording significant gains in two coordinated engagements in the Timbuktu and Bulabulin Forest areas. Sector 2 troops, working with the Stabilisation Force Brigade, Civilian Joint Task Force, and Air Component Command, cleared terrorist enclaves at Mar, Subdu, Yaro Lawanti, Yaro Shuwari, and other locations along the Bulabulin Forest and Kamadogu Yobe stretch.
At Malam Shiri Village in the Bulabulin axis, troops supported by assault air platforms engaged terrorists in a tactical flanking manoeuvre, neutralizing 11 fighters and forcing others to flee with injuries. All life support structures were destroyed. Recovered items include 9 AK-47 rifles, 3 PKT anti-aircraft machine guns, 5 motorcycles, assorted ammunition, and IED-making materials, significantly disrupting terrorist logistics. Along the Wajiroko–Sabongari corridor in the Timbuktu axis, troops with air support maintained positions and decisively engaged terrorists. Seven were confirmed neutralized, with blood trails and body parts indicating higher casualties. AK-47 rifles, RPG tubes, a large cache of ammunition, bandoliers, and communication equipment were recovered.
The Air Component Command provided persistent ISR for target acquisition and conducted precision strikes on confirmed positions and fleeing elements, ensuring a synchronized air-land offensive. Troops and volunteer forces are conducting aggressive follow-up exploitation operations along the Forfor, Multe, and Wajiroko axes to consolidate gains and prevent regrouping. The engagements reinforce Operation Hadin Kai’s operational effectiveness and sustained dominance across the Theatre.
